FK Chiller marathon on air promos
8th-Sep-2009 10:26 pm
FK--Nick (cross)
I owe people responses and I promise to get to them. Unfortunately, my internet time is a little scarce right now because my brother needs my computer for work stuff.

However, I do come bearing gifts for those of you who couldn't share in the fun of yesterday's Forever Knight marathon. It was awesome and fun and very enlightening is some ways. (Psst! Chiller edits made completely new scenes!) Chiller also put out three promos to promote the darn thing. They're pretty darn cool. I've uploaded all three to YouTube. The first one is here, the second one is here and the third one is here. Having FK on my TV was great and I can't wait to post about it!

Thanks for sharing these promos! I think it's a well done marketing concept to pick up younger audiences by mentioning Edward and Angel and then lure them into the world of FK.

What kind of edit did Chiller do to the episodes? And how did new scenes evolve from that?

Oh, how I wish, FK would be back on the air on a regular basis. I still remember the anticipation that took hold of me each evening while I was waiting for the show to begin.

I think they were very well done too. They were very slick however I was a little disappointed that Janette wasn't a part of it and LaCroix's participation extended only to his "death". Still, every time I saw the promos I got very excited.

Chiller edited for time. There were TONS of commercials and they were very long so entire scenes were missing. I think Janette got edited out more than any of the other characters. For me it gave the show more of a cop show emphasis and excluded the vampire world building that Janette represented.

I was hoping that we'd see some of the scenes that were not a part of the DVD release but only the scene from "I Will Repay" where Nick is upset with the young cop for not keeping the gun that shot Richard secure was "new".

Well, that explains why I don't remember that bit. :-) When I have time, I'll see if I can hunt up a VHS copy of the first-run US "I Will Repay," and see what there is to see...

I don't recall this scene at all. I'll have to watch my German tapes again. I remember that they edited the beginning differently during one airing of this episode, with the title music already starting during the scene.

I was excited to see the "additions" to IWR because I hadn't seen them since I recorded the episodes off of Sci-Fi years ago. At least I hope I'm remembering this correctly.

FK you make my head hurt. :P

*psst* It sounds like Chiller did not edit. It sounds like Chiller aired the original, CBS, US first-season episodes, which were much shorter than the Canadian takes or the German takes. I'll post about it. What's exciting is that this means someone has those cuts! Most of us thought they were lost, when the differences never turned up on the DVDs as extras.
