Smallville--Lois & Clark
How is this even a competition? I mean come on, really? Out of all the candidates in TV Guide's poll for Sexiest Sci-Fi Guy Tom Welling of Smallville is by far the best choice. And no I'm not just saying it because I'm a fan. Well, Jamie Bamber of Battlestar Galactica is a pretty good choice too. ::shrug:: The poll is open till Friday so do your fangirl duty and vote for Tom! And Erica too for Sexiest Sci-Fi Girl. I tend to be pretty apathetic towards these type of polls mainly because they invite division in fandom and the winner usually means that there's enthusiastic (i.e. ballot stuffing) fans behind it. However there's a potential TV Guide cover and/or photoshoot at stake and Clois fans haven't had one since Erica joined the cast in 2004. With Smallville going into its 8th and final season I doubt we're ever going to get one if it doesn't happen here.

The pictures you have up (above the cut) do show an attractive gentleman! Shall I admit that I haven't really watched Smallville since its second season?

I stomped off in a huff because I felt it wasn't living up to its first season. But I'm a comic book geek. ;-) My friend much_madness used to narrate episodes to me after they aired, and permit me to tell her what was wrong with them, comics-canon-wise. She loved their Lois, found the character's introduction revitalizing, and hung in with the show for a very long time.

Smallville is my guilty pleasure. :-) The first season was magical. When I started watching I was in my last semester of college so things were hectic but I stayed up for two nights to marathon through the borrowed season 1 dvd set.

I never had access to comics growing up so my only exposure to Superman lore was through the old George Reeves series and the 1990s Lois & Clark show, which I adored. Well the first two seasons at least.

I wouldn't call myself a major stickler for canon but when I read in the media that Lois Lane was coming onto the young Superman show I was unjustifiably annoyed. In my opinion she had no place there and that was pretty much my opinion about Lex as well.(I didn't know about the Superboy comics with Lex in Smallville at the time)

But when I finally got to watch an episode of Smallville, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Yeah the show took some crazy liberties at time but I was still entertained. Michael Rosenbaum is wonderful as Lex and I liked what Lois brought to the show, even with her unconventional background. What had bothered me before about not being canon enough was no longer an issue. I threw the comics canon handbook out the window and sat back to enjoy the ride. Sure there are things that annoy me and character plot lines that I would prefer they not follow but it's all part of the fun.
